    question to mortar collectors...

Hi I would like to do some marketing research I have for now about three sets of ground dug G.R.W 34 , my museum needs only one , so two of these will be for sale , Just want to know , in which way it must be cleaned up or restored for buyer-collector ( restored for only deko no way these items shoot again huh) , it is not complicated for me to clean it to clean up to metal fill in caverns and paint it in olive-yellow paint at WH Ral code , but will it be the right choice ? or I can clean to leave the small rests of an original paint and leave it in relic condition...
the same question concerns to panzerschrecks ...

Thanks to all repliers I'm really want to know your opinions.

Do not touch them, leave them as found. They will sell much better that way

    Cheers, Ade.

I agree completely with Adrian, other than loose dirt and mud don't do anything to them, especially if there's traces of original paintwork.

          Mortars

You now have opinions from two of the best guys to ask about this on the entire forum, and I agree, DO NOT touch them, leave them as they are. Any restoration effort will destroy some of the history. Sell them as they are - and let me know how much.

            Re mortars etc

Concur with the above comments, any decisions as to restore or not to restore
should be left to the potential purchaser.

The items are as history has left them, with a bit of luck you will find something that has been stashed somewhere warm and dry and you will have a superb find.

I dont think i will find anything like that in the country side of Kent Apart of course the odd fighter that may have gone in at 300-400 MPH so the condition of your mortars is not actually bad !

            Regards
            Tim

                    Hello.
I just wanted to bring this old thread up again. I have just recieved some mortar parts that I bought from jevgenijss.
I can truly recommend doing buisness with jevgenijss. We had very good communication the whole time, and I got regular updates from him on the parts on their way to Norway.
I bougt a ground plate and a bipod, to complete a 8cm mortar that I bought earlier this year.
The parts arrived safely, and in good condition. The bipod and the ground plate are to be restored. I took some pictures of my mortar, after I had cleaned the parts a little bit, and lubed up the mechanism on the bipod.
Here is the resault so far:

A childhood friend of mine, Roger (also a collector) came by to have a look, as I was putting the Granatwerfer together.
                          He was quite impressed

I wish to send a BIG thank you to jevgenijss, for helping me with the parts I needed.

                          Cheers

                              Good.
But I want to ask you one important thing: sling for sight is "real"? Is it have any markings?
Or can you show it more close?

I ask because I never see before leather sling without hooks for RA-35 box.
