    HELP!! Can't get stright info!!

    Hello, all....
I've applied for a FFL Curio & Relic license, and I've had part of the paperwork returned to me due to "incorrect address".
I live in Brooklyn, NY, and I needed to send a copy of the paperwork to the "Chief Law Enforcement Officer" of the city in which I live.
ATF told me when I called them in Washington, that this would be the Sheriff of Kings County (Brooklyn). The Sheriffs' Department tells me that this is not the case.
Subsequent calls to 1 Police Plaza in NYC, proved fruitless. Four different departments, including the "Firearms Permits Division" (where they told me that they were unaware that there WAS such a permit) have produced no results.
Is there anyone here who resides in New York City, who has a C&R license, and can tell me where I should send a copy of the paperwork, so that I can end this, satisfactorily?

    Please help....

    Bob.

The copy sent to the CLEO is a fyi only deal.
All the licensing comes from the ATF.
You still have to comply with local regs, but the C&R cuts out a lot of middleman issues.
Some commercial dealers will curse you for taking food out of their childrens'
mouths and that only they can provide you with quality goods-blah blah.

C&R is a good thing. It will help you to fuel our economy.

I understand that, and I'm desperately trying to comply with local NYC regs, which are quite stringent. That's why I need the correct information on where to send the NYC copy. I don't want anything to come back and bite me in the butt, later.....

If the local LEO does not "approve" or more accurately rejects your application, I believe that ATF will be forced to reject it as well.

Bobcam, I sent you a PM via the board as most of what I have to say is somewhat dated and it wouldn't be approriate to debate it here in public.

I inquired into this about 10 + years ago and it wasn't very encouraging back then.
