    French M73 Pistol, Antique???

Hi: Can anyone tell me if my M73 French revolver is considered an antique in the US? Will try to sell on estand and have to mail it, myself or licensed dealer.
All matching serial #'s H 36712 and on the side of the barrel is S.1881, a date?
How old does a gun have to be, to be considered antique in US?
    Thanks all, John

Pre 1899 I believe makes it an antique.

      Thanks Scotty:
Just found out the M73 was replaced in 1892. And the current cut off date in the US is Jan 1899. Thanks, John

        Dear Sir,

Just for your information that gun is completely legal to own here in the UK without deactivication or a licence. Its also free to export from the US and to import here, its regarded as an antique here also and requires no paperwork at all.

I know I have done it. (Section 58 of the UK Firearms act 1968)

        Regards Craig.
