Hello guys,

I got my p38 made by Spreewerk, its serial is 4166w. As I've checked out, someone here in the forum said w block is around 1944's november. Is it okay?

The mag is marked jvd WaA706 (Erste Nordböhmische Metallwaffenfabrik) - as I know Spreewerk often put its WaA88 acceptance mark on the jvd mags. Still in this case, it can be its original mag can't it? I mean even without Spreewerk acceptance mark.

According to data by Jan Balcar your serial # does put your pistol production date in Nov 44.In my experience,a jvd 706 would be a proper issue mag for this gun.

Hi Balázs,

I am of the opinion that most all of the jvd mags that were used in the Spreewerk production will not have the E/88 stamp. Finding a jvd mag with the E/88 stamp is very, very tough. I have only seen 3 or 4 in 20 years.

I think your mag is absolutely correct for that pistol.
