    Military? Remington Browning Semi Auto

I'm trying to identify this rifle. I haven't had it in hand but it's described as a Remington-Browing 1902 Patent. It sure looks military to me with a heavy barrel and military like parkerizing. Can anybody Identify it??

I believe it is a Remington Model 8 Autoloader.

I got one that I was told was used by a guard in some prison.

Roger is right: it's a Remington Model 8. You can find some info here:
            http://www.remington.com/library/his...re/model_8.asp

The legendary Texas Ranger Frank Hamer (that led the party that ambushed and killed crime couple Bonnie & Clyde) used to carry one of these with a modified magazine.

            Nice gun!

It's been posited that the safety was copied by Kalashnikov.

A couple of them were used in the Bonnie and Clyde ambush; in fact the opening shot (into Clyde's head) was from a Model 8. It sold recently for about $60,000, if I recall correctly.
