    G43 values

Been out of the gun scene for a while.

Just wondering what the going rate for a 95%+, all matching bcd G43 is.

Chad, A Gustloff made G43 in the description you described is quite desirable.....Gustloff made the least amount of these.......As long as the stock is unmessed with and w/95%+ original finish, $4K is a fair estimate.......Bodes

best site to learn more about it is the G/K 43 site. You can get the best detailed info if you post pics. Steve

          info

Thanks for the info guys, and the link.

          Another quick question though.

After looking at a number of other bcd's from older threads, is seems they quite commonly have a lightly sanded stock.

Is there a spedific reason for this? Is this "phenomena" common with G43s from other makers?

How big of a deal is that, with regards to value?

A sanded stock has a negative effect depending on how badly the numbers/waffenampts/etc. are treated. I have seen some where the rifle basically is stripped of any markings on the stock. They also seem to fall victim to people who want to sporterize the grip - making it more slender.

Here is a link to a K43 ac 44 I own that has a mint stock.

The rough/chatter marked stock is highly sought after by some collectors. Looking at it, you can see why a vet would want to sand it so it would fit in with the standard idea of an attractive weapon. The idea of keeping the weapon in its original condition probably never occurred to many owners of these rifles.

Here are some pictures of a bcd G43 that has a lightly sanded stock, I think.

Let me know what you guys think, and how it stacks up against other G43s.
