    Winchester M-12 WWII "Trench"gun

    Hey guys.

Wanted to post some pics of myall matching, correct Winchester "trench
broom" or shotgun and accessories. It is interesting that the Germans,
during WWI, considered the shotgun an "illlegal weapon" to be used
in combat, and threatened to torture/give no quarter to any U.S. troops
employing them in battle. The U.S. troops used only 00 buckshot ('double-odd') for guard/combat duty. Each pellet is about .32 cal slug
times 9 . Devasting injuries to the enemy. Packs a wallop to shoot.
    Enjoy !!!

militaria markings left side of barrel. The "CYL" is what is important here.
This assures you the barrel is for a military shotgun, not civilian or
          commercial model.

Original, WWII ammo. "Double odd" buck. Notice the Western box
has U.S. Propery stamped on top. This was commercial ammo. that
                  was "pressed into service"...

More ammo. and 1942 dated manual. The military preferred the brass
case shells b/c the paper case shells did not do well in the tropical
environment of the P.T.O. (Pacific Theatre of Operations)...
