are there any repro mauser stocks??

    Hi,
I am the proud owner of a BCD 41' Mauser 98,

lately Ive' been looking to get a military stock (because the stock makes the Mauser look in my eyes) But where ever I look, stocks are over 100$. I don't wanna sound cheap, but the barrel has been replaced and it had been sporterized, the bolt catch has been filed, and my sight hood has been lost to time. (luckily the barrel is a nice early Belgian post war one; I wouldn't be surprised if it was made on the tooling that the Germans had in Belgium)

Given all this, (and the fact I only paid $140 (us$) for the gun total) I would like to know if there are any reproduction stocks available for not too much around?

      yea....It's somthing like $30,00 shipping
Hopefully I can even be allowed to buy one...seeing that I'm only 16 and certain people around me think a military stock is "useless".
But I'm sure they may relent if the price isn't in the $200 range of the stocks sold on ebay I have been showing them

is $50.00 or so worth it for an IDF stock??

or should I try for a $90.00 early German stock...I know the IDF stocks aren't correct but they are pretty close...sort of....none include hand guards though...

          Get an original

I don't think you could go wrong with an original stock, and even replacing the other missing or damaged original components. These days I see non-matching and mis-matched Russian rework K-98s with asking prices in the $400 to $600 range (firm). You can hold out for original, correct parts for your K.98 and not spend more on it than it's worth.

sorry to ressurect this dead post, but thanks!!, I guess I'll bide my time, save for a good one

(between saving for flight school it might be a few months, too bad I'm only a kid and can't really pour real money into all this (I'm looking at you you MG-42 owners))

overall I think it's worth it, the gun is in really good shape. I had a nice sporter stock but I messed it up...
