I was trying to find someone that could give me some assistance on this Walther pistol holster that is RZM marked: L2/1638/39. Thanks in advance.

I know the "39" is the year of manufacture. I believe the middle code is the manufactures assigned code number by the RZM. I would have to look up this number to find out what manufacture this is, since I can't remember all the number codes off the top of my head.
Not sure what the first code is?

Ok, I just checked out that link above, and I was correct; the last two numbers are the date of manufacture, the middle code is the manufactures' assigned code by the RZM, and the first code is what that manufacture is approved to make by the RZM; in this case "L" for leather manufacturer, and "2" for sub-contractor. The link does not provide codes assigned for leather manufacturers' though. I'll look, and see if I can find out who this maker is?

The L with a number was used to signify what particular area of leather goods production. By 1939, this might have included companies in Austria that boosted the company number to four digits. And 39 was the year of production.

The maker is Heinrich Sattel of Munich. I have this marking on the back of my leather brocade rig for political leader PPK. Google search indicates they are still in business in a suburb of Munich.
