Here is an ac45 c series P38 that I picked up today at the CADA show in Denver, CO. It is a late c series, the frame number is 8336c, with a deep eagle over 359 next to it. Slide lock is blued, the slide release is parkarized, as is the trigger. On the other side, the trigger bar is blues with it appears some imperfect heat treatment. The slide is number 9311 c ac 45. Paint in the F/S is all there and good. Just a single eagle/359 on the other side. One grip panel is nicely mottled red/black and is a Walther panel, the other side is a mutch darker mottled brown and does not appear to be a Walther grip. It has a vertical elongated triangle in the center of the panel, with some letters inside.
The hammer is also parkarized, and is not a cog. The barrel assembly is not numbered and holds a mint bore. On the left side flat is an eagle/88, a little asterisk mark and a hardening test mark. On the other side flate is an asterisk, then B 46, then another asterisk. The locking block is marked with an eagle/359 on one side, 478 on the bottom and an eagle/swas on the other side. It carries a phosphated jvd mag without any prrof on the spine. It came with a police? holster, dated 1963?, and marked "Wunderlich, Berlin". Identical to a WW2 holster, except for the 2 D rings. I was marked $600 with the holster. I asked him why it was less than the others he had, he said that was because it was mismatched. I offered him $500 and he bit. Any comments
