My question concerns the earliest time the Italian Berettas saw combat use with German troops. The common opinion is that they were not used until the events in Italy. Can anyone advise me if they were used earlier? Preferably with pictures. Thanks in advance.

Hello Heinz, In 1942 Beretta produced a batch of 38/42 for the german army.
They are reconizable fot the script MP "BERETTA" Mod 38/42 Cal. 9, where MP stand for Maschinen Pistole, instead of "Moschetto Automatico" for the italian ones.
38/42 models has shorter barrel without barrel jacket. The barrel may be heavy and finned or light.
