Just picked up this carbine on Saturday at a local gun auction--I'm the one of course that paid too much but seems to be a fairly nice one. Have a question about the serial number being stamped on the stock also. A name had also been scratched in the stock. Wouldn't have a clue how to find out if it could have been the vet who did it. Barrel and receiver are both Inland from 1943. Comments welcome. Thanks for looking Tomt
