Mauser C-96

I have recieved pictures regarding a Mauser C-96 which was a vet bringback. What can you experts tell me from these pics regarding value?

In the first pic, I see D.R.P.u.A.P. below the Mauser markings, I am not sure of caliber but I will ask, but what else should I ask?

The initials D.R.P.u.A.P. translates to Deutsches Reichs-Patent und Ausländische Patente, (German Patent and Foreign Patents) which indicates patent protection in Germany and in foreign countries. This designation was applied to mostly commercial pistols and rifles.

Step in barrel indicates M1930; caliber should be 7,63 Mauser (.30); attaching iron on stock should be un-numbered and there should be a Mauser trademark logo stamped into the side of the stock if it's the original M30 stock. Check stock for strain cracks. Do not shoot Finnish or Czech 7,63; pressures too high.

I have confirmed the stock has the mauser stamp on it, no cracks. The serial # is 856XXX. And it is 7.63mm.

Still would appreciate several opinions of value.

Don't let this piece get away from you. The 1930 model is much less often seen than the regular C96. It's a pity the stock is missing the hinged buttplate as it appears to be the correct one. I might take a while to find a replacement for the buttplate, but it can be done. With the bring-back papers which this one apparently has, I would think this gun would easily be worth $1.5 - $2k. When it comes to a nice gun, you can't pay too much. It will catch up!!

I'm away from my books right now, but, by the serial number it seems to be a late (mid-1930s) C96 from what it is called Model 1930. As stated above, this one is in very nice condition and it is a keeper for sure. It is one of the few Broomhandles that I've seen with capture papers. This kind os guns are becoming expenasiv as well, and I would say that something around or a little bit above US$ 2,000.00 is a good price (please, bear in mind that I´m not in US so it is an rough estimative).

Try to get it!
