Sauer38h w/matching magazine

    Sauer38h w/matching magazine

    While not the lowest serial numbered Sauer 38h that I own this Sauer is a first issue police. What caused me to purchase this Sauer was the fact that it has a matching numbered magazine, the first I have had the chance to purchase.

    As well as the fact that it was really priced right!

    I found in Cate's book on the Sauer 38H another with two matching serial numbered magazines, serial numbered one digit lower than the Sauer posted here. I need to find that gun!

    Anyway, here is my find that still needs to be field stripped and cleaned. I suspect there might be one or two of you who like these nicely made pistols.

          That is a great looking Sauer and I like the early ones much better than the real late ones.

          As to the matching mag, I would tend to believe that it was numbered by the police after it left the factory. I could be wrong but those numbers on the mag don't strike me as factory applied.

            I agree with you that the magazine was numbered by the Police, and not the factory. Examples of numbering can be found in Cate's books on the Sauer 38H, the example 1 digit off in his book lists its numbered magazines being stamped in the same location as mine. I would suspect also used by the same Police unit as mine.

                Thank you, yes the pic's did turn out a bit large. "Showing off" not me said the humble gun collector
