unfinished walther pp?

I picked up this walther pp today, it is unfinished. I do not meen that the blueing is worn off or been stripped away.I am pretty sure this gun was never blued at the factory. The other thing about this pistol is that there are no proof marks on it, anywhere.

The serial number is 380292p. I believe this would put it at the wars end just about the time of the factory capture. Can it be a pistol that was already assembled and awaiting testing to be proofed and blued when the factory was captured? It has the weighted grips on it also. It is pretty dirty and I will try to post better pictures when I clean it up.. What do you think?

No I do not know any history of the pistol. I am guessing that it was captured in this condition. The serial number fits the proper range of last made pistols, and the lack of any proof marks would also make the story fit.

I think some were assembled from parts at the end of the war for our troops as souvenirs and this looks like one of them. (no proofs or finish) The Walther collectors are probable calling you now to try and buy it. They can give you more info I'm sure. Uncle Bill knows a lot about the history of the Walther plant. I think the 101th AB was at the Wather factory at the end of the war. (prob other units also). It would be interesting to know who brought it back or what unit.
