    Telescope m7

    Hi
    I have had this one laying around for years, but never known the use of it..

    It' marked with telescope m7 and the year 1942..

    Can any one tell me what weapon its supposed to be used with.

        Many people think these have some sort of small arms application such as a sniper rifle, but they do not.

        They were used with the sighting systems on U.S. WWII 37mm and 40mm anti-aircraft guns. This was both for direct mounting on the guns early in the war and on M5 and M6 computer directors later in the war. Primarily, they were used on AA guns mounted on towed field carriages but were also found on the M54 mount of the 37mm M15 anti-aircraft half track. They were also used as an azimuth scope on the M1 height finder for other AA guns.

          These where also sold as souveniers here in europe back in the late 1970 and early 1980.
