My Gun Safe Setup - Cool LED Lights

    Hey Guys,

I just thought I would share a couple pictures of my simple, but cool gun safe setup. Nothing really special, but I just installed these really sweet LED wireless lights that can be mounted anywhere. I am very impressed with them, they mount nicely and give off a lot of light. I use them for my German Militaria display as well, they are awesome. I bought them at costco.

I also was going to ask to see if anyone knows what the 2 metal things on the door of the safe are... the bottom one seems to hold my ruger and beretta mags quite well... but what are they actually for? They must be for something...

Also notice the lockable second section at the top of the safe, good little section for ammo or handguns.

I'd like to know more about your safe, like the dimensions, where you bought it and how much it cost

      Hey Gene,

      Well it is 14" x 14" and 56" tall, so about 4' 6"

I got it at Hunter's Sporting Goods in B.C. Canada for about $300 or so.

Very nice safe, thick steel too. Has 5 thick locking stainless steel bolts too.

Enough to throw your back out if you tried to lift it by yourself

I do not know the exact amount, but me and my friend could just about do it. It was a bit tricky going up the stairs. I would say it weighs at least 200lb.

If I may be permitted a small pun; that is an "Excellent" set-up.
Seriously though, that safe is great for those of us that have only a few guns to keep our collection safe. That would actually be perfect for my collection.

To be honest, I live in a pretty good part of town so I am not worried about break-ins... but here in Canada the law is you must have a gun safe or like a locking room to store your guns in. The main purpose of buying the gun safe was just to make sure everything is legal. But a good gun safe is never a bad idea... but I would rather have an nice PAB lol

Aside from german militaria I am also really into shooting. I have 4 handguns not shown in the pictures, 2 of which I am looking to sell. As I plan to buy a Glock 17 and a 98K soon I want a reblued matching 98K and maybe a Glock in olive drab

Maybe, I am not sure... I doubt it is original with the M1 though... maybe you can tell me.

It's a good thing that you don't have to worry about break-ins. I wasn't aware that it was a law in Canada to have all your guns locked up.

Good to hear that you're looking to get a K98; every collector should have at least one! I am going to try to pick up a nice Russian Capture next weekend.

Very nice, be sure to post lots of pictures, I agree every collector should have at least one, especially you... MauserKar98k

Recently I have been reading a bit about them, and looking at pictures/youtube videos... now I know I really want to get one. They are such an interesting rifle. I figure I may as well get a shooter grade K98, then down the road if I get the money I will buy a real nice one... But I have seen some original k98's that have been rebluded and or russian captured that were very nice. I don't see why russian captured guns decrease the value so much, to be honest I apreciate the historical value they have... at least you know they were on the front lines.
