    K98 help

    I need a little help.
How long of a Mauser K98 cleaning rod? (cm)
    Thank you.

    Regards

Are you looking for a replacement rod? If so, I believe it depends on the maker and and date of production of the K98 that you are buying it for.

Most are probably around 32cm, but I'm not sure.

      I got a S/42 1937 dated k98 rifle, without cleaning rod.
I got a clening rod (32cm),but too long.

You need the earlier 10 inch cleaning rod.

Right, so then you will need the 25cm rod. Any chances of seeing some pics of your K98?

If you want, I could post your pics for you through Photobucket.

Feel For The Captured Nut In The Stock

Take a small stiff wire and run it up the hole for the cleaning rod till you hit the captured nut inside the wood stock. then observe how close to the end of the barrel a picture shows the rod to be . put your finger on that spot on the wire and pull it out. most are ten or twelve inches. you can also take the barrel off and maybe see the captured nut but i had to measure and then dig mine out and trasnsfer it to another new stock when i restocked my k98. they must have put it in the wood while laminateing it.
