Just purchased this P38 with holster this week and I have no idea if the holster is WWII or post war. My gut is, it's post war but I am asking the experts. On the back of the flap is a series of numbers 1095/12/120/6169. Ta.f.Pist.38kal.9mm(W) D.M.G.9/59. The widow told me that she remembers the gun in the holster for as long as she can remember. I just don't know. I see this holster in my P38 book by Gene Gangarosa Jr. but it gives no definite distinction of it being WWII or from the post war era. The pistol is in wonderful condition with black grips but only one clip. Blueing rate about 90% and is a cyq (spreewerke) with 100% matching numbers 6**2 followed by V. It has the eagle88 proofmark stamped all over the gun. I believe it to be later 1944 or early 1945. Not to concerned about that, just the holster.
