    Model of a gun

I wonder if you know the maker and the serial number of a gun you can say which model is.

I have a Soldbuch to an Artillery Officer who received a Mauser pistol with serial number 611462. Can someone tell me which model of Mauser is this pistol?

    Thanks

What about this? Comes from Soldbuch to DKiG winner Oberleutnant Georg Stern

It appears you Soldbuch is for the same model Mauser pistol. These small caliber pistols were typically issued to officers.

            Angel,

the second entry is most interesting and confusing.

            Translation:

"The bearer has bought on March 30, 1943 from Army's inventory a pistol (Mauser) Cal. 7.65 mm, complete serial number 58915, This pistol is the private property of the bearer"

This is confusing because of the five digit serial number. It doesn't fit in any Mauser serial number range of pistols present at the Wehrmacht at this time. I guess, Major Müller made a serious mistake with the serial number. A number 758915 or 858915 (both would be a Mauser HSc) would fit.

            Regards

Due the fact that is a second replacement maybe the mistake was done by the clerk during the copy of the informattion in his first Soldbuch or in the Army Records.

              Thanks for you info
