    Tan painted MG42

    Hello

    I thought I would share with you this amazing MG42 that resides in the Bayeux Museum in Normandy, France

    wouldnt there be loss of paint on the barrel ? I would iamgine it gets hot, flakes off or something like that ?

        It has a changable barrel which is internal to the outer portion......You really can't see that in the picture.....As for the exterior, I would think it depends on how much use it experienced.....Bodes

            Guys its 100 % - I have personally asked the former curator about this piece several years ago as he is a friend of mine- oh yes its an awesome piece I am sure that I have seen another one on a half track in the museum at Falaise

              Many years ago I saw a DEWAT MP 38 in tan paint.
              I believe it had brown handguard.
              Neat piece. Vet acquired. It was overpriced at $125 at the time.
