Holy Jeebus there's some nice stuff in there. I'd love to get that SVT-40 sniper rifle among about a jillion others.

According to this month's issue of the American Rifleman magazine, Mr. Stern's heirs have agreed to donate all proceeds from the firearms auction to the NRA's National Firearms Museum. The heirs donated some 12 or so rare guns to the NRA's museum, with everything else being put on the auction block.

          What a fantastic collection!
Here is the FG-42 that Jack mentioned.
Is that sling correct? The fittings look OK but what about the leather itself?

What sort of money do these fetch? Around $30-40k?

An identical model FG sold at auction here in the US about 6-8 months ago for $75,000. I believe that gun's receiver had been cut and rewelded, in order to get it legally registered. This method of cutting and then "remanufacturing" the original receiver, as a registration mechanism, was ended when US law changed in 1986. Such guns are termed "rewelds" by US collectors.

Bottom line is that if the Stern FG is an uncut original, it should bring more money than the reweld FG did.

I'll guess at auction it'll fetch above $150K

There arent any welded paperweight types here, they are the cut up paperweight types. How much do these go for in the UK?

I have a friend who sold both a First Model and Second Model FG42. They both brought over the $95k mark if I remember correctly.
