Several factors come into play, but if it really is all-correct, all-matching and near mint, it could easily be worth 1200-1500 USD and maybe more.

In the U.S., dewats usually don't exactly fetch premium prices, but I'm not sure about Europe or elsewhere.

As others have stated it depends on where you are. In the States, deactivated firearms are pretty much considered ruined unless they are a rare model of something. (Thats because most Americans have the freedom to own live firearms). I don't know the market or laws in your country, but I think the price is way too steep for a deac firearms.

                Cheers,
                Johnnie

Here in Holland, a German k98k is around 300 Euro (440 dollar) i think, all original German (non matching), but prices are realy various.
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

                        Okoska,,,,,,Import laws?

                        Hi Okoska!,
I am writing you from the USA, I just left a gun shop in Pittsburgh, PA, and handled 4 K98's, they were all active and for sale between 325$US, and 500$, what are your importing laws?, even De-act importing laws?, Here we can transfer to gun dealer to gun dealer, where we pick it up after we pass a backgroud check, but from person to perso, in certain states, the deal can be handled without involving a dealer. so let us know,,,,,
                        thank you kindly...
                        Bernie.

                          ...

Laws are pretty strickt. To keep a live gun main part without permission is 2-8 years jail...

Thank god we can buy k98k's, Enfields, Mosin Nagants etc.... as much as we can without needing to have a permit
600$ is pretty much for a deact one, I would pay this for a shooter.

                              k98 price

I live in Canada and if this rifle was 100% correct with no import
markings and no sign of being re-furbed, I'd say it'd go for $ 1500
                              up to $ 2500 cdn.

If this is a deact......I'd say $ 800, if it has full working actions.

If it is a weld, etc....maybe a few hundred bucks.

For most K98 rifles that I have ever come across, they are russian re-works,
                              left over from captured lots.

Living in Canada, I can't say the law's for owning working firearms is the best,
there are a lot of restrictions, but at least we can own basic rifles and pistols.

Deacts are not easy to find in Canada, or at least nice examples.
The laws of deact's changed over a year ago.
No dealers can sell any with full working actions anymore.
Everything has to be plugged at the barrel, mags have to be pinned, bolts
                              cannot move, etc.
So, I have given up on deacts....the ones found in the U.K are decent though,
they seem to have a good amounts as to the types and models, etc.

                              Hope this helps you out.
