    THihnking of getting 3 guns

Im thinking of getting 1 of 3 guns. If I get the Arisaka I can get the Enfield No.4 as well. But if a I get the k98 Then I would not be able to get any others. Have no idea what to get since I am going to get all of all 3 of those typs of rifles but do not know wich to get first. (sorry for bad spelling just got off graveyard shift)

No. 4 Mk.1* 1942. Appears to have been refurbished to serviceable condition. Most of the finish is still there. Is not matching and is import marked. The bore is in very good condition. Very tight and the rifling very prominent.Has a 2 groove barrel. There is a little wear from corrosive ammo. I have fired about 200rds.(non-corrosive) and it shoots accurately. The stock is a replacement beech wood. The stock butt is marked with an L, meaning it is a long butt. Has a steel butt plate. Has a small chip near the plate, otherwise there are virtually very few scratches on the stock. Does show some darkening in color from age and/or storage. Tight fitting with no missing parts and all are in good shape. FFL or C&R needed. Money order or certified check only. $20 shipping to 48 continental states.

Starts at a penny High bidder takes it home. A Nagoya 4th series type 99. Its a shooter so its sold as is. Mint chrome bore, non matching chrome face bolt. Has anti-aircraft sights.Lots of good parts on this one.MUM is struck not ground if that makes a difference to you. Stock has been refinished but its not duffle cut. Here's you chance for a bargain basement priced shooter. Its still in 7.7mm NO I haven't shot this one.

ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS RIFLES OF WWII,THIS ARSENAL REFINISHED K98 GERMAN MAUSER HAS NAZI MARKED CODES ON THE RECEIVER,A CLEANING ROD,IS CHAMBERED FOR THE 8MM CARTRIDGE AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. C&R ELIGIBLE;CALIFORNIA OK. ALSO INCLUDED,WHEN THE "BUY NOW" OPTION IS USED,IS A K98 SLING,K98 CLEANING KIT,K98 AMMO POUCH,TRIGGER LOCK AND DOSKOCIL HARD CASE. PICTURES ARE REPRESENTATIVE. BUYER PAYS ACTUAL COST OF S/H TO AN FFL DEALER OR C&R. NEW YORK STATE RESIDENTS PAY COUNTY SALES TAX. MONEY ORDER OR CERTIFIED FUNDS.

Yikes... a rather loaded question. The Arisaka doesn't match, and the K98 is a partially cleaned russian capture composed of mixmaster parts.

You want us to advise on how you spend your money! What is your goal? Why the rush? The best learning tool is having a gun in your hands to field strip and inspect. Ultimately, it's your money and your decision and you do have to begin this odessey somewhere. I know nothing about enfields so can offer no advise there, but suggest one of the axis guns to get you off the fence...

        Which Guns to buy?

All three rifles have their issues.... The K98 sounds like a typical Russian RC rearsenal rifle. These are commonly available in the 250$ +- range. Some sellers will throw in "extras" to squeeze some more money out of the deal, sounds like it to me with this deal. They are fun to collect and inexpensive right now, but they will never match the collectibility of an original non-refurbed 98.
The Arisaka, mismatched bolt drops the value, but the refinished stock is a bigger detriment, at least it would be to me.
The Enfield would be fun to shoot, but I have been able to pick these up sporterized for 65$-80$ locally, and put it all back together for 50$ or less. The common rifles are not a high value/collectible arena.
My guess (forgive me if I'm wrong) is that you are just entering into collecting firearms.

If that is the case figure out what you want to focus on, and then buy books, read them, and then buy more books. Low end stuff is all right, I have quite a bit myself. High end stuff will always be in more demand, and will sell, but also cost $$$$. Lots of fakery though where $$$$ is involved, so that's where the books are going to save your rear end. The rifles you mentioned are realtively easy to find here in the US, especially the Enfield and the Refurb 98. Chris....

The problem is I live in a area that over prices every gun they have I have only been able to find a good condition enfields for about $400 and ones with totting stocks for $250 and rusting K98s in the area are selling for $390. and yes I am just getting into collecting rifles. But im also wanting to eventually buy A german k98 a Enfield No.4 and an Airisaka. The pawn shops have no idea what the are selling and only see a year and so over price them. and the specialy shops just over price anyways. The one place I have even condisiderd guying a rifle from was a specialty shop and they were selling Nagants 91/30for over $200 The only way i can really get a good rifle is on the internet. because the place i did get my nagants from were all dicks and even drenched the entire guns in oil. SO I will not go back and even after i saw their next shipments they would not tell me anything more on a new shipment of surplus rifles. Also I was just wanting more experienced opinions.

I would get the enfield and arisaka. RC k98ks are cool, but they are super common and every gun show has more than one.

The Arisaka is probably the best of all of them in quality, but the refinished stock and mismatch bolt can hurt the value.

Just a few things to consider - do you want something to shoot? Japanese ammo is really pricey these days, there being no surplus ammo anymore. Brit ammo is findable, 8mm Mauser can be had rather cheap.
Other advice - invest in a C&R license. This will allow you to order old junk rather inexpensively. Get a copy of Shotgun News, there are several suppliers who have surplus rifles rather inexpensively.
More advice - put an ad in the local newspaper. If you try to sell an Arisaka to a local gunshop, they probably won't even offer 75 for it. If they had one, they'd ask over 200 for it. Find someone who is wanting to get rid of one and make a good deal. Not everybody has the Internet, especially alot of older folks who have neat stuff in closets.
Lastly, ask about anyone local who has an FFL that would be willing to order a gun for you. Some folks don't charge much. You can take advantage of Gunbroker or Auction Arms. With a bit of patience you can get these three rifles for about a hundred each, if you don't demand collector perfection. Somebody gave me a Type 99 Arisaka - free. I removed the scope and filled the screw holes, added a monopod I found in a junk box for 10 dollars, and now I'm looking for a new rear sight leaf.
Just be patient, search every pawn shop, ask everyone you know about old guns in the closet...have fun..

Arisaka ammo has gotten quite cheap, you can now get it for 16-20 dollars a box(of 20 rounds). I would go ahead and get the Arisaka, and the enfield. The arisaka doesnt look to heavily sanded, so it may be a good piece for shooting and collecting, I love the arisaka, it is one of the neatest, highest quality rifles, contrary to popular belief, they are alot better than the K98k(the arisaka is more accurate, requires less cleaning, and doesnt kick as hard, has a stronger reciever, and it is alot lighter so it is not a pain to carry to the range), and alot cheaper. I havent shot an enfield, but it is similar to the arisaka from what I have heard.
