I made mine from looking at lots of photos of supposedly real zf4 boxes. I think I may have made mine a bit too narrow - its 12 cm wide and I think it should be 12.5 wide instead. Height, 21cm, lid is 3.5cm deep, thickness is about 5.5cm - actually I think I made the wooden sides 4.5cm thick and the pressboard adds about 5mm per side. Lid is lined inside with 1.5mm thick plywood that comes about 5mm down inside bottom part. Inside, make the color filter holder about 4.5cm square and 1cm thick.
Sidewalls of box should be solid wood about 1cm thick, the front and back are fiber board, or what I call "masonite" about 5mm thick. Hope that gets you on your way..

Looks like it is a really good copy and the proportions seem to be correct. Those pictures would have helped me on mine.
Where did you get the hardware, especially the pull latch? I have a huge oversized one off a regular gasmask can on mine.

I bought the box at Beltring some years ago with all the fittings on the box except for the pull latch, the one I'm going to fit is a gas mask tin pull latch which I bought at a show in Germany where a chap had a whole box of them.I bought 2 wished I had bought more! The pull latch has the small letter m in the middle.
Dimensions are- 21.3 cm height. Width-12.5 cm. thickness-5.2cm. Lid depth3.5cm. 17.7cm from the base to where the lid joins the body.Regards Jerry.
