    Rifle Clamp

Bought a rifle training clamp for "spiking" in soft ground described as possible Hitler youth Training or Sniper use or just for basic training. Rifle is clamped in padded bracket with adjustable screw, the bracket is on a ball joint so free to rotate 360 degrees and able to be angled at up to approximately 45 degrees left to right etc from verticle position. A cable runs from a spring set by a lever to a clamp that fits trigger guard and lever positioned behind trigger. When rifle fired and trigger hits lever the ball joint is automatically locked in the position firer had rifle in when puled trigger. Presumably an instructor would check position and give suitable instructions.

Not sure if correct posting here but does anybody recognise and/or have any further information on it's use and by whome?

Odd that it has no markings. I don't want to rain on your parade, but I have to say I'm skeptical about the attribution.

          Rifle Clamp

          Hi Craig

Item was as "cheap as chips" and interesting enough to purchase regardless of descriptions. A few Firearms collectors I have E-Mailed pictures to who have been collecting far far longer than I have have never seen one before. This suggests not very common who ever made or used it?

If I remember rightly item came out of Austria.
