SS marked Mauser banner .22 MINT

Has everyone seen this? According to the books I have it falls in the proper serial number range of the SS marked trainers. What do you think it should be worth?

    thanks

Now do the books say the serial range is a "block" of produced SS contract rifles, or are they intermittently dispersed?

If they are intermittently dispersed, I think internet buys from gunbroker or the like are too risky. There are so many persons that try to make a fast buck on there that the numbers are against you.....

there is just so much stupid ass hype over ss items.

is the seller a known dealer that has a good reputation?

      ..

Yes it falls in the selected "blocks" of rifles made for the SS. The source being myself, I had wanted some opinions. I received it in a trade and I am personally not a huge fan of SS stuff but the condition of the rifle is excellent so I held onto it for a little while.

        correction

Well it has been checked out by multiple books and sources, it is proper. More importantly regardless of SS Hype what is this worth?

As things SS go , if it is not "SS" marked it just won't bring top dollar like a marked item will.
A buddy had a real nice DSM34 some years ago and got a couple grand for it as it had the SS brand on the R/S of the butt. It was legit and grogeous. Had it simply been a DSM34 withut the SS brand - even if some book said it was a serial block supplied to the SS it at best would have been a couple hundred dollar 22 rifle. Sad , but true.
Imagine if a guy had a couple minty stahlhelms taken from an SS depot , but none had any SS decals. Sure they were SS , but nobody will pay anything near what a decaled example would bring.

Is yours the same one as the one that didn't sell, or what? Of course it had cuts. What is your serial number if it is different? I think if you take it to the SOS, it will sell for $1500 to $2000.

              hello there

What do you mean the one that didnt sell?
This was relisted on gunbroker thats all, I didn't do anything to it as it did not meet the reserve. So if you mean about a week ago the one on gunbroker that didn't sell then yes. It has not been to any shows.

                also

Also, I cannot believe this is just 1500 to 2000 in its condition as wacko bob simpson asks that much for non SS marked, at the past kansas show he wanted 1800 for a mediocre wehrmacht unit marked (granted he is too high) but the point being is in general I don't see mint dsm's. But ultimately I guess it is what the market will bare.
                Thanks

I got too looking at your pics. The exposed duff cut does take some away from it , that's expected.I think you will find a Heer "unit" marked DSM much more scarce than an SS marked example. I have personally seen three - four counting yours that were SS branded/stamped , but have seen not one in person with a Heer marking.
Simpson is a dealer - and sticker shock is how he makes his money.
All around anything WW2 german is insanely priced high , but don't expect to sell high when you "want". I see guys all the time saying "the book says it's worth X amount"....and the reply is always , "does the book tell you where to get that money ?".

agreed, bluebook is not the market value...
