    M1 Paratrooper Question

Was wondering how to tell the difference between a WW2 version of the M1 paratrooper carbine vs the ones issued in Korea? Thanks for any help. Alex

Methinks that by Korea, most of the carbines had been arsenal upgraded to M2's. thus the stocks would have had the M2 switch cut out and pot-bellied stocks.

I've never seen a pot bellied M1A1 stock; another modification to the postwar M1A1 was an M2 magazine release, which was a beefed up version to securely support and lock in the 30 round mags.
