    Luger Test

This is what decades of storage in a leaky outbuilding will do to a 1906 Luger!!

      Hi Denny:
I picked this up awhile back as I find relic condition weapons somewhat fascinating. it was a solid lump of metal when I received it but a couple of months or soaking in KROIL allowed me to disasemble it and clean it out. Out of curiousity after re-assembly I jack a primed case(no bullet or powder) into the chamber and pulled the trigger. Yep; it went bang alright. As I'm sure you know this would be a $3000 to $4000 Luger in good condition.

Before and after are one it the same. I've made no attempt to "improve" the exterior appearance of the pistol other than to oil it to arrest any further rusting.

that's the only way I can afford lugers, but I've never found one for sale like this.

what I find really cool is that it's very dark colored. I always thought that bad condition means no finish left.

but if it's really bad, it's actually black?

            that's good.

You and me both. Its kind of sad to see it in that kind of condition, though.
