good luck with that one, I can't even find pics of german soldiers using sauer 38h's, walther pp's and ppk's.

someone did print a book of the luger in action. that would be cool if there were enough pics of pocket pistols being used to but a book together.

Instead of just one kind of pocket pistol, someone could produce a book of all different pocket pistols being held in period pictures. This would be a very interesting coffee table book indeed.

Maybe the Germans didn't use pistols in the war. According to some, if you can't show photographic evidence of them in use, they didn't use them. I am being facetious of course.

I have come accross german soldiers firing Sauer's,PP's,PPK's,P08's,P38's....but never seen a picture of one with a M1911

M1911A1 in German channels

I've read and will paraphrase here......Through 1944 German troops began to collect what they called 'prey' weapons and a favorite was the "amerikanischen Colt, der die Bezeichnung P. 660(a)". The Heerswaffenampt gave the pistol this designation as they had enough in channels to use it and procure it wherever and whenever they could.


I've only seen one photo of a German soldier carrying one though and it would be neat if anyone has the photos to post.
