    Mauser HSC KM

    Hello all,

I'm Mauser collector living in Switzerland ...

I just buy a Mauser HSC Kriegsmarine with the stamp Eagle/M/6.
Serial number is 913xxx so it's a late variation (production about 1945).

Is someone able to give me more informations about this M/6 ?
(nb. of units produced with this stamp, why the number 6 ?)

Is it a rarity compare to other KM markings ?

    Thanks in advance
    C.

FYI you can find my private collection here : http://ctt2.blog4ever.com

KM marked HSc's, in my opinion, are harder to find than KM marked Mauser 1934's. I would think your gun looks like the one in this link from my web site?

I'm posting this for Peter who is having trouble logging in.

"The marking denotes acceptance by Marinewaffenamt Abteilung III des Marinezeugamt
3, or loosely, Navy Ordnance Office, Department III of Naval Arsenal 3. It is
generally acknowledged that the early Eagle/M on the front grip strap was
pantographed at the navy facility, but the later Eagle/M III/3 was probably applied
at the factory prior to shipment since it was blued along with the pistol. Because
of variations in strength or clarity of stamping, the number “3” shown in the Naval
Acceptance mark has been interpreted at times as ”6” or “8”. Despite much
research, very little information is available regarding the organization of the
Marinewaffenamt, compared to what is documented for the Heereswaffenamt (Army). In
my extensive database, there are only approx 50 reported serial numbers for this
late KM pistol (highest reported 934xxx produced in very late 1944) with none
reported for 1945. Total Mauser HSc production –252,000 - Starting at #700 000 in
      Dec 1940 thru #952 000 in March 1945."
