    looks like some sort of flash attachment for a barrel.

        I agree with Scotty about it looking like a flash attachment but I don't recognize it. A blank adapter maybe?

          Looks like the front end of a ME109 machine gun that I saw at Hendon once. The pair that are mounted above the engine.

            It looks kind of like a flash hider or muzzle brake for a 37mm anti aircraft gun.
