Nice group!! Was it very common for P-38s to be carried in Luger holsters? I have 1 brought back in a luger holster as well.

            History,

I obtained the below pictured group directly from the original veteran that served in the 78th. Inf Div. 311 Regt. Taken after the battle of the Ruhr from surrendering prisoners.

Veteran says that the Political Leader Walther PPK came from a SS officer but I feel that his memory may have failed him. All pictured as found and in uncleaned condition. P-38 came in this 1937 dated Luger holster. Vet said that he also had a Luger but got drunk and lost it in a Poker game. Undoubtedly, the orignal P-38 holster was misatkenly exchanged for this Luger holster at that time.

                Nice find!
It's not unusual to find pistols and holsters mixed up. Both of these holsters are for different guns.

                  Hello R.B.,

I realize that the associated holster to the P-38 is for a Luger but do you feel that the other holtser isn't for a Walther?

R.B., don't jump to the conclusion that a Akah Anuschat style was the only style permitted. Check out the Geco catalog page on the NAPCA forum that shows a style similar to this offered in PL light havanna brown color.

                      Hey Joe,
You're right about the Geco pattern holster of this pattern. But from the photo it looks to be too large for the PPk. It could be the photo but it would be interesting to see the mag in the mag pouch.

Clip in the holster as it came with directly from the veteran.
