    Ppsh-41

    • Looking to buy a semi auto version and have seen a few made from Russian and US parts. I am not very knowledgable on these and was looking for some pointers and advice on what to look for or stay away from.

I have no idea as to their quality but this is the only company I know that is making them:

You will not be able to get an exact copy unless you are willing to pay an extra 200 dollar tax, as the PPSH41s barrel is to small and you wil need an extended shroud or extended barrel.

Visit gunboards.com as alot of wiselite/MGS products like this are discussed there - to include all the pros/cons of the guys actually owning and shooting these semiauto versions.

Had a lady "shooter" at the club one day who was loading a 380 magazine. She would get 3 or 4 rounds in and then they would pop back out. I walked over to see and guess which way she was inserting the cartridges??

                  A few things looks wrong.

                  1) the round is a blank.
                  2) it's in backwards.
                  3) a PPSh41 receiver and shroud is supposed to be a continuous stamping, not two parts with a seam. (I understand MGS is making the clones this way by joining a new receiver to a surplus shroud).

Actually, it is backwards in order to be full auto and legal. The BATF can't stop these from being sold in the US. If you watch the videos, it fires just like a real one!

                    I am considering a Sten...

Nothing wrong with the pic Gene. The blank firing PPSh41's are made to fire backwards!

                      Cheers, Ade.

I'm sure you'll find the info in your research, but be very cautious when purchasing a new production ppsh-41 semi-auto as there have abeen a world of problems with them. I'd suggest you only buy one that verifiably functions well.

To bad you did not live in Canada you could pick up a PPSH for a reasonable price, Yugo and Russian.

Any specific manufacturers that are known for reliablity?

??? What on earth are you talking about? I know of no PPSh's for sale in Canada.

No dewats. No live guns. And no semis.

We DO have SSD-made replicas of comparable German arms, however.
