    Thanks for yours pictures.
OK, put mine in place with a roll-pin is the solution.

Someone can post the two sides of a resting bar in position with the roll-pin ?
What is the type of this roll-pin ?

Thanks giorg69, now I can see how this part is attach.
It seems to me this pin looks like pin of the rear sight cover.

You are right Claven2, I wanted to speak of
                  the front sight cover.
(It misses the front sight on mine.)

This is awesome information guys, I have been trying to find the dimensions of that pin for my dummy build!!!!!

If anyone has a spare resting bar (or roll pin) or rear sight that they want to trade or sell let me know.

                    Thanks for the info.
*Here is the new project, repro barrel and barrel nut. BNZ 42 lower.

                    Next to my SSRoom MP40.

                      Mp 40

                      Hi,
Just my two bits worth - I've always thought a roll pin was a hollow pin formed by wrapping a piece of flat metal around to form a tube-shaped pin.
The securing pin for the barrel rest is solid and in my experienc hasn't had a "head" as such but each end is drilled or countersunk in a little way and after the pin is driven through both ends are then peened out using a larger diameter pin punch with a shallow point or rounded tip.
You have to have a punch or something with the right-shaped end held in a vice - rest the pin on that and hit the uppermost end sufficiently and both ends of the pin are spread at the same time.
All you need is some mild steel bar of the right diameter and go from there!
                      Hope this helps,
                      Grossfuss

                        Front sight

Here's the front sight on my Mp40 for comparison. As it never been removed it would make a suitable comparison. The last 3 serial numbers appears on all the small parts including the resting bar & rear sight.

This one appears to be made of resin plastic, and not bakelite. The WaA does not look very good either. I think it is a un-finnished copy.
