Please advise on any military rally in Norway.

    Hi everybody,

Can anyone advise me if there's any military or guns show or exhibition where deactivated guns
and guns equipment are sold in Norway please.
    Thank you in advance.

There is really only one event, twice annually. It is held just outside Oslo, near the airport. Early May and early October. It is well attended, but not really large compared to shows in the UK or US. Btw: there are quite a few visitors from Germany, Poland, Denmark, Sweden there, and some from Russia and the Baltic states, so there must be something that makes them travel all the way.

Feel free to send me a privat message if you would like to attend the show as a dealer, and I will provide you with the necessary email address etc.

Is it true that Norway dumped a bunch of surplus K-98s which were converted to 30x06 postwar?

They are abundant here in Norway. Going rate through a dealer is appr. US$180 / UK £ 90.

I believe not so. Almost all 98k where recalibrated to 30x06.
The nation guard youth used them until late 90`s.
I bought one of the last one in service of the norwegian defence league.
It was calibre 308. A few was cal.308 due to take the G3 calibre.

In 1996 the Norwegian company Magne Landro AS bought the remaining supplies of 98k from the Norwegian Armed Forces, a total of 14.500 rifles. All of these rifles were fitted with barrels in 30-06. Most of the rifles had been stored since the late 60's for the national guard, and many had unused barrels.
The rifles have all the German markings, and the receivers are marked "Hær" (army), "FLY" (airforce) and "KNM" (navy).

My guess is that quite a few of these rifles are available abroad. I know for a fact that 65 of these rifles were exported to Germany in 2005.
Here in Norway we usually use these rifles as a basis for building hunting rifles.

The rifles are still available from Landro and a bunch of other dealers in Norway, just name the number you want...
