    Smith & Wesson Military Police

Picked up this United States Property marked Model 10 tonight with a nice Japanese gunto sword from same vet. Pretty standard handgun has flaming cannonball stamp on butt as well as N Z 4343 on backstrap of grip but has carved horn grips with STA MARIA BULACAN carved on one side and PHILLIPINE ISLANDS with a village scene carved on the other, has insect holes from insects eating the horn and handmade holster. Interesting item but is there much collector value?

Okay you allied guys have any idea what the NZ 4343 on the back gripstrap behind hammer stands for,,,,New Zealand seems a possibility?

Yes, it's New Zealand issue with rack number. There should also be a broad arrow property stamp with the NZ.

Navy Arms (IIRC) imported these some years ago, and stamped them on the underside of the barrel.

Thanks, no other stamps other than the NZ so apparently this one came back on its own.
