Can't find the Specs.......

But, you can buy the whole MP40 Spring Assembly for $50 USD .....
(A LOT easier than trying to MAKE or FIX one)

If you only need the recoil spring (not the entire tubular assembly), you should think about getting a current production spring from Wolff Springs in the U.S. Check out www.gunsprings.com. I just checked and the recoil spring is $11.99 and the buffer spring is $3.99.

Many shooters here in the US (including me) prefer the Wolff recoil spring, as it works better than an original if you are shooting regular pistol ammo. In many cases the original German spring is too stiff to allow the MP40 to function properly if you are not using MP ammo (i.e. heavy bullet & heavy powder charge), because regular pistol ammo is not powerful enough to make the gun cycle properly.
