LW M-30 Drilling Rifle by J.P. Sauer & Sohn

Dear Fellow Collectors:

As I am not able to find but a few brief references here on this forum about the above-referenced rifle, can anyone who knows about them please provide some information or sources as to where I might learn more about this supposedly rare and very sophisticated combination over/under survival hunting rifle that I am told was provided as equipment on fighter aircraft in the North African theatre of war?

I was shown and offered one today....not cheap. Nicely marked with the eagle over N and a LW eagle, plus maker markings and numbers. I understand from the seller that there are post-war reproductions, but that this one is a real, period item. Sadly, it is missing the original metal case in which they were stored on aircraft (I understand). I am unable to post any pictures here at this time.

Anyone out there interested, so we can discuss?

Thanks very much, "GWA". Lots of details and information there. I also found some good information in numerous other places on the internet. If I am able to in the near future, I will obtain and post some pictures of the rig being offered to me.
