              Hi Jeremy,
Quite a nice 1916 DWM manufacture Luger but the magazine does not match this pistol, whatever the numbers might say......
This is an fxo mag and would have been issued with a WW.2 Luger. Type 5 i think.
The grips are very odd also. I have never seen any like this, they look to be plastic, not even VOPO style.
Is the seller claiming this is an 'all matching' pistol? I hope not.....

              Steve.

The gun seems to have been reblued.

Pistol is reblued. Can't make out the grips, need a closer photo. Magazine has been numbered to the pistol along with the number "1" which is typical of police marking from 1922 through 1945. Such markings on the magazine were also carried on by the police in the DDR.

My guess is that the gun was reblued and possibly reworked at the same time that the mag was marked-up. Quite possibly to meet some post war need probably in the DDR.

The guy [armorer?] who stamped the #1 on the mag must have had a "tough" night, as it is not lined up correctly.

This mag has been "played" with at some point.
