    Ac41 P38 Rig

    Hello fellow members,
I hope you don't mind me sharing some pictures of one of my favourites. I picked this up many years ago direct from the vet who brought it back with him. A B block with a beautiful high polished finish with the 41 hard shell holster, and 2 boxes of 1941 dated ammo. The magazine is serial numbered in the B block, but the actual number is off by a few. I have had a friend of mine express interest in buying this, but since I've been out of the P38 market for awhile, can you help me determine what a fair price would be? Thanks for your help.

                          Flugzeug,

I have the identical rig only in an early "c" block with a "CWW" hardshell holster. I have posted many photos of it and the feedback I was given puts it in the $1,500.00 range. My mags don't match. My dad disarmed a German during the Bulge and it has never been out of the family so there is a bit of provanence with mine.

                          Very nice looking set up

                            Hi,

I can't tell for sure from the pictures but the pistol should have a very reflective high polish finish. The grips should have an E/359 stamp on the inside, maybe even the last 3 digits of the serial number although they were phasing out doing that by the time your pistol was made. It is an early second variation ac41. Assuming it is all original, I would say the pistol is worth an easy $1500 by itself, maybe $1750. I would have to examine it to be sure.

Sadly, it appears the front of the holster has been polished. The stitching should be the same color on the front and back. Still, it looks like a great holster and 1941 dated holsters are difficult to find in nice condition. I would value the holster at $300, maybe $350.

I collect German 8mm and 9mm ammo. Those boxes of ammo are of interest because of the date and the (trop) marking. I would be interested in the boxes if you friend didn't want them. The boxes are worth about $30 a piece, maybe some more IMO.

Different WAF members are in different markets so there can be a rather large variance in estimated values. I live in Texas and consider this area to be in the lower mid range of values.

                            Regards, Leon

                              Very nice pick up....

                              Especially the ammo box
Trop. stands for Tropen... very rare box.....
Is still the original ammo inside?

                              Cheers
