    how to store guns

i keep mine in the cases , in the safe and remove clean oil, shoot and reclean and recase and return to safe . 78 degreees 50 percent humidity. pistols in rugs no guns in holsters and only one ww2 japanese sword in orig scabbard. my brother keeps his in the safe but uncased. What do you guys do? Recommend?

Coat them in the oil of your choice....mine is Ballistol....wrap them in a sandwich bag and put them in their correct holsters.
Rifles are different. I keep mine out of rifle cases because I mess with them all the time. I just keep them coated with Ballistol as well.

when you guys say cased, what exactly do you mean?

also, Blue, you wrap a sandwhich bag around the pistol? wouldn't that trap moisture down here in florida if we tried that?

i may have just read your post wrongly,

          V.H.,
You don't have to worry about trapping moisture if you handle them often, which is the case with me. I don't use a zip lock bag, just a cheap sandwich bag. The bag keeps oil off the holster too.

If keeping handguns in baggies in holsters leave the baggie open to prevent microclimate developing. Been doing that 3o yrs w no problems. As for rifles, I use Breakfree, keep in open racks, and check annually; slings should be kept slacked off to prevent cracking.

After the shooting I just clean them and put them in the safe. Nothing more
