    Civilian / "plainclothes" holsters

    Kameraden,

Does anyone have information, or especially pictures of concealment holsters for the P08, P38 used either officially or unoffically by the Third Reich?

A good question for which I don’t think that there is a lot of information in circulation. I also don’t know for the larger pistols (P08/P38) if I would consider them “concealment” holsters as much as something to be worn by someone like an aircraft or tank crewman. Inside a vehicle or aircraft a conventional holster can get hung up on something with very serious consequences. A shoulder holster is much less likely to do the same, and in fact were standard U.S. issue in WW II and later

The Germans seem to have followed the same path. But to the best of my recollection all of the holsters that I considered to be period were not discernibly made under the control of the military (like the Heereswaffenamt or Luftwaffe). But instead seemed to be more in the line of private purchases very often without markings. FP
