No serial number?...

I have a "BNZ 44" K98, and I have had it for a few years now. But one thing that I just noticed is, its missing a serial number on the reciever?... Any reason that the rifle is unmarked with a serial? I showed pictues of the rifle when I first bought it and was told that it was a SS contract rifle. If this helps i'm not 100% sure. I have been out of the game for some time now. Any help is appreciated.

P.S. I cannot find my camera but I will try to get photos of the left side of reciever (these are old pictures).

Good to have you back on the Forum again. I've been wondering where you've been!!
I'm no K98 expert, as you know, but I'll just bet some of these "aces" here can zero in on your question. Yes, good photos are a must.
