it s difficult to read possible WaA135

the finder of the crate have retired the original rifle inside he would it not sell with the crate i have add my k98k for showing the crate with rifle . the retired rifle has the stamp S 42 it is the mauser fabrik code
the crate is discovered in a old barn in luxembourg i have no idea for reason to pack 1 rifle separate in a wooden box . if anyone have a similar example please post pictures from it

The first time I see a crate like this for a rife....are you sure it is for a 98K and not a G/K43. Any labels attached to the box. Bill

sorry bill the g-k 43 does not enter in the crate .
and remind the stamp on side E J 1939
THE G-K CAMES OUT ON 1943
i can only see the yellow colored Wa.K.5
in the midel of the top of crate i see 4 nails with removed label ( missing )
