    My first Mauser K98 !

I'm very proud to show you my first K98.
Bought in a gunshop here in Belgium for 532$.
Made in 1943 by "dou" Waffen Werke Brunn, Bystrica.
    Good mint condition.
Complete with the strap and the cleaning rod.

Ready for use and i'll shoot with it soon...

It's was dream of me and now i've got it !

    All the Best.

    Florian.

Get a little target and show us some pics of the shot groupings. Yours looks to be in good condition, so it will shoot at least 4 inch groups. How is the bore?

Very nice gun, is it all matching?

        Hello guys

The barel looks clean and bright. No traces of corrosion.
The bore looks normal and the rifling too.

Unfortunately my bolt doesn't match with the rest of the Mauser.
I've heard that after the Surrender the german soldiers were ordered to put the bolt on one side and the rifle to the other side.
Sometimes that may explain why we've got some mismatches...

I'll test it for the moment at 27 yards, just slowly and softly.

I didn't want to use corrosive ammos so I'll make the price for good ammos for a legendary rifle !

        Best regards.

            Waow !!!

I'm back of the shooting range.
I'm very surprise by the high power of the rifle.
Not bad for my first time.

See my groupings at 27 yards.
On the "6" it was my first shots.
            I finish on the "9"

But it was enough for today cos' of the price of the ammos...

Great great great and so exciting !

            Best regards

            Florian

Thats a fairly decent grouping. You have every right to be proud.

Very nice weapon. Good to see it still shoots good, too.

                  I'm afraid.

                  Hello,

I've two clefts at the end of the hanguard's wood near the lower band. Seems to be old ones.
Is that means "danger", is the hanguard break after several shoots? :1 scream:

How is it possible to stop or fix it ?

                  Thank you for your help.

                  Best regards

                  Florian

Those cracks dont look like anything serious, I wouldn't worry. Really nice weapon!
