    Browning 1910 with Kanji

    Hey Guys,

    I thought I would share a photo I took of this newly "captured" pistol, they are a little hard to find.

        Very nice rig!
        I have a question about those "Japanese Brownings". It is clear to me that these small pistols were very popular in Japan (and elsewhere) and I have seen these guns before (in Internet).

        Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but I was wondering if there was an offical contract for the FN1910 to Imperial Japanese Army/Navy? or these guns were purchased privately?

            Vanderlinden states that the pistols were shipped prior to 1940 to Schroeder, FN's largest distributor in Liege. He says that it isn't known if the pistols were purchased by the a Japanese retailer or directly by the military. He states that not all the pistols were stamped with the kanji mark and that they are found in the 450,000 range and up.
