The sling itself looks just like 3 others that I have seen and consider original. But the mark I can't help you with.

I would treat the marking as very suspect. I cannot say for sure that is is bad, but many original items do get stampted up to make them "worth more".

One of my reasons for thinking this is bad is that the contract number stems from 1939. The MP38 had only been in production for a year at that time. The SS VT at that time did not have access to the latest weapons and was making do with several different types of machine pistol.

But I was so surprised because man Who sold to me two slings for MP in Ukraine, did't make attention on this marking (second sling was w/o any marks, only "F & L" on buckle). I bought two slings for 40 USD..
