    Russian M44

HI, I have just purschased a Russian M44 and i have a question about it....i have no pictures for it though

Anyway...on the bolt it has a little star engraved into it,i was wondering if it was anything important or just something normal that they all have

    Thanks

The little star means that the bolt body itself was made by the Tula factory.

If it had an triangle with an arrow in it it would have been made at the Izhevsk ("Izzy") factory.

Because most Mosin's being imported now are refurbished, it is very common to see them with parts from different factories. Even if the various serial numbers match.

Here is a great website for Mosin Nagant information:

    What year is your M44?

      Hey Mike.

Tula's are a little more expensive than Izhevsk made rifles.
