Along with the pistol is an Italian helmet used by a member of the Latvian SS.

Really nice Roscoe--- I had one similiar to that, with holster, but in a coffee induced haze, traded it...

BTW, what does the other side of the helmet look like?

It looks the same. There is a place in the back that looked like it may have had a white circle with SS runes or a swastika but it has been rubbed away.
